Free social games, kept deliberately small

Ringgleam is a single page with one game on it. There is no lobby to scroll, no catalogue of hundreds of titles, and no account standing between you and the grid. You arrive at the rotunda floor, the array builds itself, and you can start sighting clusters straight away. The whole point is a few unhurried minutes with a puzzle, not a session that wants something from you.

Because the game is free social entertainment rather than a gambling product, the design can be honest about what it is. Your credit balance is a number held in your browser tab for as long as that tab is open. Close it and the number is gone. Nothing is saved, nothing is synced, and there is no ledger anywhere with your name on it. If the balance runs low the page simply hands you more, because a demo that locks you out is a demo that has stopped being useful.

The theme is a ringed world seen from an observatory floor: a gold planet with a tilted band, shards of ring ice, a shepherd moon, a lens, a tilt dial, a marker peg, an orbit hoop and a faceted chip. Eight instruments, one grid, and a chain that climbs while clusters keep clearing. That is the entire product, and we would rather do that one thing properly than pad the page out with surfaces nobody asked for.

03. Virtual Credits

What a virtual credit is, and what it is not

A virtual credit on Ringgleam is a counter. It exists so the grid can keep score while you play, in the same way a pinball machine keeps a number on a glass panel. It is not currency, it is not a token, it is not a claim on anything, and it does not represent value that we hold on your behalf.

You cannot buy virtual credits. There is no shop on this site, no pricing page, no card form, no cryptocurrency wallet and no third party payment processor in the page. You also cannot cash virtual credits out. They have no cash value, they cannot be redeemed, exchanged, transferred, gifted or withdrawn, and no prize of monetary value is attached to any result the grid produces.

Where the balance lives

In memory, in your browser tab, and nowhere else. Ringgleam writes no cookies for gameplay, uses no local storage and keeps no server side profile of your session. Reload the page and you start again from the opening stack. That is a deliberate choice: a free demo has no business building a persistent record of how long somebody played.

Why the balance refills

If your credits reach zero the page restores a fresh stack and says so in the readout. There is no waiting period, no daily allowance and nothing to claim, because there is no scarcity to manufacture. The refill is not a reward and not a bonus. It simply keeps a free demo playable.

04. Reading A Cluster

How cluster play works on a six by five grid

Press the sight button and thirty cells fill with instruments, column by column. The grid then looks for clusters: groups of five or more identical symbols that touch each other edge to edge. Touching means sharing a side, so up, down, left and right count and diagonals do not. Every cluster the grid finds is outlined and its members are joined with tethers, which is why a winning shape reads like a constellation drawn across the array.

Tumbling

Cluster members do not just light up, they clear. The symbols shrink away, everything above them falls down into the gap, and fresh instruments drop in from the top to fill the empty cells. If the refilled grid contains another cluster, that one clears too, and the tumble continues. A single press can therefore resolve into several clears in a row before the array settles.

The chain

Each clear in an unbroken run advances the chain, shown as a row of pips above the grid with the current multiplier beside them. The first clear counts at the base rate and each subsequent clear counts for more, so a long tumble is worth noticeably more than the same symbols cleared one press at a time. The chain resets when the array settles with no cluster left on it. Cluster size matters too: a group of nine touching symbols is worth considerably more than the minimum five.

Pace

The default pace is unhurried on purpose, so you can see which instruments matched before they clear. If you would rather not wait, the pace button marked Skim roughly halves every step. Both settings run exactly the same grid with the same outcomes; only the animation timing changes. If your device is set to reduce motion, the tumble resolves as instant state changes instead.

Ringgleam involves no money and no prizes, so nothing here can be lost. Even so, games built on cluster clears and climbing multipliers borrow the rhythm of real-money gambling, and that rhythm can be a poor fit for some people. If you find yourself playing longer than you meant to, or reaching for a demo grid to manage a feeling rather than to pass ten minutes, it is worth stopping and talking to somebody.

The pace button marked Skim shortens every animation step for anyone who simply wants the grid to move faster.

Stopping

Close the tab. Nothing continues in the background, no timer keeps running, no notification will follow you and no state survives. The next visit starts from the opening stack with no memory of the last one.

Ringgleam is operated by Ringgleam Ltd. We build small free-to-play browser games. Ringgleam is one page with one cluster grid on it, and that is the whole of the product.

Your credit balance and your session totals are held in the memory of your browser tab and are discarded the moment you close it.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy statutes. Under PIPEDA, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

Cookies

Ringgleam sets no cookies. The page writes nothing to browser storage of any kind: no cookies, no local storage, no session storage and no device fingerprint. That is why you will not find a consent banner here, and why closing the tab genuinely erases your session. Because no cookies are set, there is nothing for you to accept, decline or later withdraw consent for, and no advertising or analytics identifier is attached to your visit by this page.

Server logs

Our web server records ordinary technical request data, such as the requested address, a timestamp, a truncated network address, and the browser user-agent string. These logs exist to keep the site available and secure, are retained briefly, and are not used to build a profile of you or combined with anything else to identify you.

Your rights

Since Ringgleam holds no account and no personal profile, there is normally nothing on file to access or erase. If you believe we hold information about you regardless, write to privacy@ringgleam.com and we will respond. You may also complain directly to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

Ringgleam is for adults 18+ and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under that age, and since we collect no personal information at all, there is nothing held about any visitor of any age.

Acceptable use
